To start the year 2020, EMSPROTO is a partner of its first Hackathon Lab Innovation! The principle is to activate the grey matter of engineering students in ESME-SUDRIA’s Bac + 3 program.
Their mission: to propose solutions for the automation of a production equipment. For five full days, in a spirit of competition, the students were able to confront the typical problems they will encounter tomorrow in the professional world.
The hackathon started with a detailed visit of the brand new factory where EMSPROTO moved in December. This was an opportunity for them to discover the latest technologies in the sector, such as the first 100% automated assembly line in Europe.
Once the subject was unveiled the students spoke to the company’s experts and inspected the production machinery. Then, then had the right to come back to EMSPROTO’s factory or to work at the Eurékapôle de la Communauté des Communes de Montesquieu where a Fablab was at their disposal to develop their prototypes.
At the end of the week, the students presented their projects to a jury composed of teachers, prototyping professionals and EMSPROTO’s project managers. The quality of the proposals pleasantly surprised the whole jury, who congratulated the students for their investment in a subject that was far from easy !
Thanks to this Hackathon, EMSPROTO pursues its objective to feed the curiosity of electronic engineers, wether or not in training, in a spirit of knowledge transmission!
This project is, we hope, the beginning of many more to come!
